Educational Benefits

Even though meals are free for most students, District 191 asks all families to complete an online application called the “Alternate Application for Educational Benefits,” which will be available on this page later in August. Watch for an announcement when the form is available.

Filling out the Alternate Application for Educational Benefits can help families receive reduced or waived athletic and activities fees, reduced transportation fees, discounts on internet service, emergency food benefits, and more.

Plus, some of the funding our schools receive is determined by the number of families that qualify for benefits. So by completing the form, families are helping ensure District 191 schools receive everything we need to support students, including additional funding for teachers, interventionists and other student supports.

Even if you think you may not be eligible, completing an application can make a huge difference for our school and that’s why our goal is 100% of families completing an application. Any information you submit will remain confidential.
